Our cutting-edge science is done primarily by undergraduates. We are a larger group than most undergraduate labs, something enabled by a lot of peer- and near-peer mentoring (a scaffolded mentoring structure).
We are very intentional about training students how to BE scientists, not just how to DO specific scientific tasks.
The pages below are new as of 2023 and are slowly being populated. They will be maintained by student research groups, and provide a snapshot of some of our ongoing projects. Since we don’t always have students working on every project, some pages will go a long time between updates. The most recently updated projects appear at the top.
Many of the students in the Follette Lab have a deep interest in software development and front and back-end design of computational tools. The software and tools they design are essential in streamlining everyday research operations and driving our research forward.
