A bit about us

We’re working toward a deeper understanding of planet formation and numerical skills in science

Our team provides a place for researchers who are are looking to discover more about the cosmos and themselves. We are team-based, inclusive, and provide a supportive atmosphere for trainees from all backgrounds. We encourage our team members to practice science in a way that includes both ‘traditional’ research tools (scientific writing and data analyses) as well as less-traditional tools (storytelling, scientific communication, youth education, art, and public outreach).

We encourage creativity, joy, and collaboration as team members explore their interests.

Undergraduate Students

I accept beginning researchers into my lab each summer through the Amherst College Summer Undergraduate Fellowship Program and the Five College Astronomy Internship Programs. Many of these researchers continue work throughout the academic year as Gregory S. Call Academic Interns or as an independent study course. Many of these projects culminate in senior honors theses.

Graduate Students

I accept PhD students into my lab through the University of Massachusetts Astronomy PhD program. I am happy to speak with admitted students about research opportunities in my lab, and with current PhD students in the program about potential initial research projects (first year students) and dissertation projects.

Postbaccalaureate and Postdoctoral Researchers

Opportunities are subject to funding, and will be advertised on the AAS job register
